Training the Next Generation of Worship Leaders

At Agape Worship Arts®, worship is more than music—it’s a lifestyle of surrender, service, and spiritual leadership. The Agape Worship Team exists to raise up young musicians who are not only excellent in skill, but deeply rooted in faith, humility, and the call to lead others into the presence of God.

A Discipleship Journey in Worship

Each member is an enrolled student, trained through the Agape Worship Arts Method (AWAM)—a holistic system blending musical excellence, spiritual depth, and servant leadership. Students are invited to join the team by demonstrating consistent growth in character, calling, and competency.

Over the past five years, the Agape Worship Team has ministered in churches across Stockton, Lodi, Tracy, and Manteca—serving as a living testimony to the power of Christ-centered music education. While the team’s lineup may change, the mission remains—one of calling, character, and Christ-centered purpose.

One former member received a full-ride scholarship to Jessup University—directly connected to their growth and leadership in the Agape Worship Team. It’s just one of many stories of how God is using this ministry.

Worship Training that Transforms

Under the leadership of founder Jonathan Michelsen (B.S. Worship Studies, M.A. Music Education, Ph.D. candidate in Christian Worship), students are trained not only in guitar, drums, piano, synth, bass, and voice—but in character, unity, and servant-hearted worship.

“We are not raising performers. We are raising worshippers who lead with purpose and identity.”
